UNITED STATES AIR FORCE
Our precious daddy was born on January 20, 1945 and went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2022, following a brief hospitalization for complications of Covid 19.
He attended First Baptist Church of Elkhart. Daddy knew the Lord Jesus was his savior. In our eyes there was not a kinder, sweeter soul than our Daddy. He served in the U.S.A.F. for 10 years at home and abroad and was a proud veteran. He owned and operated Fraziers Grocery, alongside our mom Mary Frances Berryhill, for many years. He then worked for William George Produce before completing his career here at Walmart Store.
Daddy loved our mother even after her death 27 years ago. We never witnessed a greater love. Y'all are together now forever and a day. We love and miss you Daddy with all our heart and soul.
Mr. Berryhill was preceded in death by his parents, Rawleigh Berryhill Sr. and Viola Hamilton Berryhill, his wife Mary Frances Berryhill, daughter Melanie Schatz, and a sister Velma Bruchmiller. He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Quintana and husband Anthony, Sandra Sheperd and Linda Charmaigne, sisters, Thelma Bigham and husband Damon Bigham, Sr., Bonnie Townsend, brothers, Rawleigh (Buck) Berryhill, Jr., and Kenneth Berryhill, special friend Mary Baughman, ten grandchildren Shane Corbin, John Corbin, Jr., Destiny Pearson, Courtney Tucker, Ty Sheperd, Justin Schatz, Chelle James, Debora Schatz, Halen Quintana, Heather Quintana, eleven great-grandchildren, Chris Pearson, Chassidy Pearson, Cynlee Malone, Ashley Miller, Jordan Tucker, Madison Venoy, Caiden James, Madilynn James, Ellie James, Sarah James, and Kiyen DeCluette, five great-great grandchildren, Vivian Pearson, Acasia Pearson, Kairi Pearson, C.J. Rodgers, and Grace Rodgers. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made the American Heart Association.

August 29, 1937 - February 25, 2021. Served in the National Guard, stationed in Fort Ord, California. He served in Active duty in Fort Polk Louisiana in the 49th armored division during the Berlin Crisis.
Ray’s wife, Nancy Hardy Bonner, provided the following information:
Ray went to Fort Ord California in October 1960 till April 19, 1961 arriving home exactly 1 month before our first baby Mona was born! He was in the National Guard ! A few months later the 49th Armored Division was called up for Active Duty to Fort Polk Louisiana which had been closed down for several years ! It was hurriedly reopened and he went ahead ! On Nov. 10, 1961 my 18th birthday, Mona and I moved there to be with him in a 3 room garage apartment out in the country with a sweet couple who had a 2 month old son. We lived there for 10 months until the Berlin Crisis was settled ! What a happy day that was! The day we moved home was the day Marilyn Monroe died.
